Welcome to MJ's Table

Let's dive into the Word of God
Joseph, the favored son of his father (Genesis 37-48). He did not volunteer for global leadership. His brothers forced him to take on a life of ambiguity. Joseph had dreams and visions he did not understand. Sharing the treasured future insight from God with the wrong people caused discord and jealousy within his inner circle, resulting in him being taken away from all that was familiar. Despite his emotional trauma, betrayal issues, and lack of cultural awareness, he chose to not give up. His persistence, flexibility and adaption skills proved invaluable. He was well thought of by those in the culture in which he found himself working as a servant. He learned their ways, was agreeable, and open to new experiences. His experiences ranged from getting to know the so called "elite ones" to the "deplorables". Joseph was forced to build new relationships, learn from other leaders, learn new skills, learn new languages, respect others' customs, honor others' traditions, and embrace new norms. Regardless of the environment or circumstances, he excelled as a global leader.
Joseph found favor with God and man. The expatriate was found trustworthy by his owner. His refusal to lower his ethical standards, sleep with the boss's wife, resulted in years spent in prison. Life was not fair in his eyes. While in a prison in a foreign country, he allowed the Lord God to minister to others through him. Throughout his negative and uncertain experiences, his faithfulness as a servant of the Lord God remained and he was later on in life able to be a blessing to many countries. In a country in which he entered that would not have embraced his way of life, he later bridged gaps between foreign countries and commerce began. With God, Joseph went from servanthood in a foreign land to one of the most influential global leaders in history. As global leaders, we should not despise the day of small beginnings. God placed the vision and dreams within our heart and He will provide the people to come alongside us and help us accomplish the things he has ordained.
